Two nations whose peaceful relations and undefended border are World reknown, were once locked in a bloody conflict. For Canada, as a British Colony, it was a time where American invasion was halted.
For Americans, this Conflict was known as "The Second War for Independence". Many reasons are counted as causes and factors.
This Tour is a view of many of the sites of conflict and strategic importance. 80% of the Battles in the War of 1812 were fought in the Niagara Region.
Your tour includes a visit to Old Fort Niagara - built by the French, won by the British and then by the United States. Tour the Fort and its visitors Center. Then travel to Niagara-on-the-Lake and tour Fort George, the British fortifications rebuilt to their 1812 standards.
After a delicious lunch, visit the Lundy's Lane Battlefield and Museum - site of the bloodiest battle ever fought on Canadian soil.
Your tour will pass sites of interest such as Queenston Heights, Chippewa, and Fort Erie.
